Winterton-on-Sea Seals

Every year as the seal pupping season comes around, (October/November to January/February), the size of the seal colony increases and, although the majority are centred around Horsey they are spreading out and more significant numbers are now found on Winterton beaches. In order to protect the seals and the delicate environment Friends of Horsey Seals have had volunteers advising and informing visitors, (who’s numbers also increase every season) around the Horsey area for some years and it’s now felt that Winterton would benefit from similar attention albeit on a much smaller scale so we are looking for volunteers to spend as much or as little time depending on their individual circumstances to help those visitors to Winterton who wish to experience the seals and learn more about them. The experience is both interesting and rewarding and training is available in order to answer the many questions we get from visitors. If you like to be out in the fresh air and meet and chat with people this is for you. If you would like to know more please contact. Eric Lund, Chairman Winterton-on-Sea Parish Council chairwinterton@yahoo.com 01493 394331 or 07860 395880 and more information can be found by visiting the Friends of Horsey Seals website at http://friendsofhorseyseals.co.uk/
